Steven, after living over seas, moved to Albany, GA, and is a recent graduate of Lee County High School. He has lived in Texas, Guam, and now Albany. He currently attends Darton College and maintains a 3.8 GPA as a math major. In his spare time Steven enjoys reading, math, skateboarding, disc golf and XBOX live. He loves his job because gets to meet and assist people daily and loves the Christian atmosphere along with the encouragement from employees to live out his walk.

Clay is a recent graduate of Sherwood Christian High School and will be attending Darton in the fall. In his spare time, he loves to play baseball, basketball and disc golf. He is also an advid volunteer at Sherwood Baptist Church where he helps feed the homeless and assists the youth ministry. Clay is passionate about sharing the gospel and feels the Lord calling him to ministry one day. His favorite verse is Matthew 5:16, "So let your light shine before men so they may see your good deeds and glorify your father in heaven." He loves the opportunity he has to meet new people and brighten their day by working at DORKS!

Zack graduated from Lee County High School, and is currently attending Darton College. He was Commander of Lee County's high school NJROTC as well as rifle team leader.

He is very active at Central Baptist Church, and has the desire to know God. Right now he is working “Like a Boss” at Dorks in Albany, while hanging out with his co-workers Steven and Clay. His interests are serving Jesus Christ, women who have a passion for Jesus, spending time with family, eating at Blackbeards, Africa, fishing, hanging out with friends, and having fun.

As of now he doesn’t know what to pursue in college, but he knows God will guide him in the right path. His favorite quote that keeps him motivated is “I have a different constitution. I have a different brain; I have a different heart; I got tiger blood man.”- Charlie Sheen.

Kayli Davis was born and raised in Macon, Georgia. She graduated from Peach County High School in 2008 and is currently enrolled at Macon State College where she will graduate next summer with a Bachelor's in business and accounting. She has been at DORKS since September of 2010, and has been a fantastic asset to the DORKS Family. She says that in her spare time she likes to hang out with my family and friends.

Marianne was born & raised in Macon, GA and attended Clarke Central High School. She is now a student at Macon State College and plans to graduate with an Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy in May 2012. She is the Vice President of the Macon State College Association of Respiratory Education (MSCARE CLUB) and also plans to continue her education with a Bachelors of Respiratory Therapy. Her long term goal is to go to graduate school to become a Physician’s Assistant.

Marianne enjoys going to church (Victory Baptist Church in Roberta, GA) and volunteering in Awana. She also enjoys spending time with my family and friends, as well as spending time with her boyfriend and playing tennis. Loves running 5K’S, kayaking, and anything outdoors, but MOST importantly seeking and following God and whatever his will is for her life.

Jason Bassett has always been a large boy growing up in the great state of Georgia. He's a true southern boy who likes sweet tea, sports, and music. At age 12 Jason battled cancer. He had many chemo treatments in a two-year span, including a stem-cell transplant. Through this time Jason even found salvation through Jesus Christ one night at his house in his hometown of Loganville, Georgia. Jason was saved from cancer and his sins by age 14. By age 18 Jason had learned how to play guitar, and he now hopes to be used in leading worship for youth and college students. He currently leads worship for Blackshear Place Baptist Church Accepted Middle School Ministry.

Greg is a native of the Hall County-Gainesville area. He graduated from West Hall High School in 1996. He is a Veteran of the U.S. Navy and has served in the Atlantic Theater. Greg has over 26 years of guitar shredding experience. Greg’s other interests include but are not limited to; Surfing, Coffee, 70’s and 80’s rock, Freestyle watch collecting, etc.

Greg became a follower of Christ when he was 6 years old under his father’s ministry. He is currently pursuing a career in Radiography at Lanier Technical College. He is single.

Sam was born and raised in Jonesboro GA along with his 5 siblings. He is beginning his third year at Clayton State University where he plans to graduate with a Bachelors degree in Business Management with a minor in marketing. He also completed a two year program at the EI School of Biblical Training in Greenville, SC. He is serving on the leadership team of Baptist Collegiate Ministries as well as President of the Go Green Club at the university. Sam enjoys playing music and has an active role in the music at his church, First Baptist Jonesboro. He also enjoys the outdoors through hiking, cycling, running and other sports.

Gabrielle is a sophomore at Clayton State University. She has attended the University for two years prior to college as a student in the dual enrollment program. While currently undecided, she feels that God is leading her to pursue a career in the healthcare industry, possibly as a nursing major. She attends First Baptist Church Jonesboro and enjoys spending her time volunteering in the church�s nursery. She is excited about her new job at DORKS Books, as it has already opened up other opportunities within the college and career ministries at FBCJ.

We welcome Taylor Martin to our team here at Dork's Books. Taylor is returning to Clayton State University this fall to pursue a career in Information Technology. When he is not working at Dorks Books, he leads worship at his home church, First Baptist Jonesboro, on the south side of Atlanta. As well as leading at the Church, he travels with The Chris White Band leading worship at churches around the Southeast. He also volunteers with the college and career ministry at the church, and participates in various local music projects.

Stacy is a sophomore at Gordon College and plans to complete her Associates Degree in Business at the end of the Summer 2012 semester. After that Stacy plans to transfer to Clayton State University and pursue a Bachelors Degree in Business.

Stacy has recently started attending First Baptist Church Jonesboro and is involved in the college ministry there. She enjoys spending time with family and friends and staying active.

Josh was born and spent his early childhood in Auburn Alabama before moving to Georgia. He is currently attending Gordon College, located in Barnesville Georgia, and is completing a B.A. in English. After graduation he plans on going to the mission field full time.

Josh serves as Youth Pastor at Russellville Baptist Church and in leadership with the Gordon BCM. His hobbies include theology, reading, and sports.

Joe was born in July of 1990. He has live in Jonesboro for the past 19 years with his parents and 5 siblings. He is an active member of First Baptist Church Jonesboro where he also runs sound on sunday mornings and is part of the college ministry leadership.

Joe graduated from highschool in 2008 and began working for a landscaping company in Hampton Ga. After working a little over a year in landscaping Joe decided to go to college. He is now in his sophomore year at Gordon College and working part time for Dorks.

Kara is a graduate from Atlanta Christian College with a B.S. in Biblical Studies. While attending ACC she played soccer for four years. She now uses her passion for soccer to coach high school girls. She also enjoys helping with the student ministry and different music ministries at her church.

A verse that has had a major impact on Kara’s life is 1 Timothy 4:12 Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.

Ben is originally from Statesboro GA, and decided to go to North Georgia College to pursue a soccer scholarship. He played all four years, and during that time, Ben was introduced to the gospel and became a Christian. Ben has been working with DORKS seasonally during buyback and rush times for the past year and a half, and has recently come on part-time to work throughout the semester. He is planning on graduating in the spring of 2012, and is looking forward to an opportunity to go on staff with Campus Outreach, doing full time college ministry.

It has been a blessing and encouragement to work alongside the DORKS staff and crew, and to see their joy in the Lord pour out over everyone that they come into contact with on a daily basis.

Jessica Jones is a junior at North Georgia College and State University. She is currently studying her life-long passion: Art. Eventually, she hopes to get her masters and teach art on a college level. She attends Blacksheare Place Baptist church in Oakwood, Georgia and is highly involved in their middle school and college ministry.

Missions, local and international, excite her. Jessica is one of six children, so she loves being around people—especially little kids. She is currently engaged to the love of her life, Benjamin Keith Lanier, and is making preparations to be married May 5, 2012!,/p>

Evan Lowell is a senior at North Georgia College & State University studying business-management. He began working with DORKS Textbooks in August of 2009 at the Dahlonega, GA location, where the company found its origin. He states, "that it is such a blessing to work for a company that remains focused on serving the community in which it operates, with the purpose of shining the light of Christ into a world full of darkness". Evan states, "God's favor saved my life in the Fall of 2008 from a childhood of brokenness and a path of destruction that leads to death; He saved me by revealing the divine comfort Christ offers from the feeling to perform or reach a certain level to be accepted by this world, and also has fulfilled the deepest longing of the human heart to have an intimate and loving relationship with God the Father. Since having my heart regenerated from a spiritual state of complete death in my sin and being brought to life in Christ Jesus, I have been called to the ministry full-time and aspire to be a pastor of a plant church in the inner streets. Being an ambassador of the grace of God has been my greatest joy and glory in this world simply because it is my purpose for being created, as it is for all of mankind".

Ephesians 2:8 says, "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith, and this is not of yourselves, but a gift of God." It is only by God's grace that my eyes have been opened to what's truly worth giving life to in this world and clear that God has a plan to use this wretched soul for his plan of redemption in this world. My life song is to cry out in humility to God with the tax collector of Luke 18:13, 'God, be merciful to me, a sinner!'"

Stephen Hulsey is 25 years old and graduated from North Georgia College and State University in May with a B.A. in Finance. He enjoys going out on the lake and playing sand volleyball. His picture is from his trip this past summer in South Africa.

Chris Matthews grew up in Albany, Georgia where he became a Christian in 2002. His mission in life is to be a good representative of the gospel of Christ. He shows it in his love for people, generosity, and work ethic. He desires to live up to the scripture where it says, "Whether you eat or drink, do it all for the glory of God." Chris graduated high school in 2005, and first attended Darton College for two years where he played soccer. After leaving Darton College, he went on to continue his soccer career at Bryan College, but an injury prevented him from his fourth season. He then transferred from Valdosta State University and graduated with a degree in Business Administration, Marketing in the summer of 2010. Following graduation, Chris signed on with the DORKS Family and opened the Albany, GA location. He has enjoyed the new friendships and ministry opportunities that have arisen from DORKS Textbooks, and is very excited about the company growing to help more and more students.

Brad was born and raised in Gainesville, GA and graduated from North Hall High School in 2002, where he then attended North Georgia College & State University. He graduated with a minor in Chemistry and a B.B.A. in Marketing. In 2004, while still sophomores at NGCSU, Brad and friend Brett Grizzle started a little business called B&B Books. After months of work and Brett's dream to hike the Appalachian Trail became a reality, Brad needed some help as the business began to grow. Brett left to hike the AT and Brad's cousin, Trevor Cain, soon bought into the business. From there, God continued to bless and encourage the two on their business venture.

He met his wife Sarah, at the first DORKS location in Dahlonega in 2006. Sarah is also a graduate from NGCSU and is now studying Anesthesia at Emory University and will graduate in August of 2011. The two now live in Atlanta with their cat Andie.

Brad's goal for his life and business is that God's will, will be done and ever present in his daily walk. His prayer is that DORKS, through helping students in a variety of ways, would always be used by Christ to spread His Word and help lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. He is so thankful for all the love and support from his precious wife, parents, and family. It is their constant support and encouragement that has made all of this possible.

Daryle was born and raised in Flowery Branch, GA. He accepted the call to salvation at the age of 6 years old when he gave his life to Jesus Christ. He grew up playing basketball and golf where he learned the values of hard work, integrity, and teamwork. He was a Georgia Military Scholarship recipient when he graduated from Johnson High School in 1988. He attended basic training at Fort Benning, GA. Daryle participated in the Corp of Cadets at North Georgia College (NGC) and was a member of the Georgia Army National Guard (GANG). He graduated from NGC with a B.B.A. in Accounting and was commissioned as a 2nd LT in the GANG Military Police branch of service.

Daryle has been married to his wife Amalia for 6 years. She has truly been a blessing from God in his life. He answered the call to live his life obedient to the Father's will on July 10th, 2001. He began working with DORKS in April of 2010 at the Gainesville, GA location which was the company's second store opened. As operations manager Daryle helped DORKS manage growth to 5 store locations, while developing a business format to help future expansion as well. Daryle was promoted after his 1st year of employment with the company to CFO. He states DORKS has been a wonderful Christian influence as well as answered prayer to work in a Christian environment. DORKS has helped Daryle to grow in accepting the calls to ministry and evangelism.

Bryan was born and raised in the once small, one red light town of Dacula, GA. He married his best friend Kim in October of 1995. Bryan and Kim serve God at Blackshear Place Baptist Church in the student ministry, focusing on middle school students. They currently reside in Flowery Branch, GA with their three children, Stephen, the rule follower, who loves children especially orphans, Michael, the preacher, with a passion for following God, and Sarah, the tomboy, who praises and worships God with all her heart.

Bryan came to DORKS in November of 2010 through another wonderful plan of God. The company was in need of people to help during the busy time at the end of the semester and the owners prayed that God would send them the help they needed. That same day Bryan called seeking some part-time employment. After working through the season he was promoted to Director of Operations, or Operations Manager. Bryan says, "It is an amazing opportunity straight from God. With DORKS I am able to continue my current ministries, finish school, and provide for my family."

Gene was born and raised in Fort Lauderdale, FL, where he grew up loving the outdoors. Fishing and baseball were his passions. He spent virtually all of his time outdoors, whether fishing by himself or playing sandlot baseball or football with a group of neighborhood kids. Family and faith were a solid foundation provided by his parents. He joined the church at age 13 and most of his friends from school also went to the same church. His parents were very influential, and still have a lasting influence on him to this day.

Gene is married to his High School sweetheart, Carol. They have been married 36 years and have two wonderful children, Kevin and Karen, an absolutely awesome Daughter-in-Law, Lisa, and two perfect Grandsons, Eli and Colt. Gene worked 10 years with Sears, and then moved to Georgia and joined Allstate Ins. Co. He sold his agency after 20 years, and then took some time off. After working part time, a friend at his church recommended that he talk to Trevor Cain, and Brad Faulkner at a company called DORKS. This was truly a "God thing". The result has been not only a terrific job opportunity, but a good friendship as well. The poem, "Footprints in the Sand" is very close to Gene's heart. Many times he has felt alone and sometimes hope seemed so distant, but there were ALWAYS those "Footprints in the Sand" where God has carried him.
